Until now we were discussing and learning about excel but from today onwards we will be expanding our horizon into Microsoft Power BI, which is one of the market leaders in BI platforms.

Power BI is a business analytics tool that allows users to connect to, visualize, and analyze data. It is designed to provide insights and help users make informed decisions.
Power BI includes a range of features and tools that enable users to:
Connect to and import data from a variety of sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and cloud-based services.
Transform and clean data using built-in tools and functions.
Create interactive dashboards and reports using a range of visualization options, such as charts, graphs, and maps.
Collaborate with others by sharing dashboards and reports and working on them together in real time.
Power BI is available as a desktop application (Power BI Desktop) and as mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Windows devices (Power BI Mobile). There is also a paid version called Power BI Pro & Premium that includes additional features and capabilities, but we will start our journey with Power BI desktop which is free to use.
How to Install Power BI Desktop
Power BI desktop is available for Windows, Mac & Linux. There are a few different ways to install Power BI, depending on your specific needs and the devices you want to use it on. Here are the main options:
Installing from Microsoft Store (Recommended)
This is the recommended method because this will automatically install any updates coming from Microsoft.
Now there are two options to download
Click on the Download Free button
This will give you a prompt to open up Microsoft Store. Go to the Store by clicking the button
In the store you will see a button which says “Get”. Click on it and it will install Power BI desktop on your system
Installing from Executable file
This method is only advisable if you want to install the application in a different language other than English. Installing with this method will not get any updates from Microsoft automatically and you will have to manually install the latest version again.
Click on “See Download or Language Options”
In the new window, choose the language you want to use and click on Download
Now choose the setup version you need, i.e. 64 bit or 32 bit. And then press Next
This will install the setup file on to your download folder
Now you can open the setup file and follow the instruction to install Power BI desktop on your system
